To extend the influenza vaccination demonstration project currently conducted under the medicare program, to establish a program to award grants for hospital-based influenza vaccine delivery programs, and for other purposes.
Influenza Immunization Awareness Act of 1992 - Amends the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 to extend the influenza vaccination demonstration project currently conducted under the Medicare program (title XVIII of the Social Security Act).
Amends the Public Health Service Act to mandate establishment of a program to award grants for hospital-based influenza vaccine delivery programs. Authorizes appropriations.
Directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish a National Clearinghouse on Vaccine Information through which health care providers may submit and obtain information on the availability of vaccines.
Requires the Director of the Centers for Disease Control to study the feasibility and desirability of bulk purchases of vaccines by the Federal Government as a method of preventing shortages of vaccines.
