Telecommuting Act of 1992 - Establishes in the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) an Office of Telecommuting.
Sets forth as functions of the Office: (1) acting as a clearinghouse for information on telecommuting activities and techniques; (2) promoting the development of telecommuting technologies, techniques, and procedures; and (3) promoting the use by employers of telecommuting.
Authorizes appropriations to permit NTIA to make grants to establish telecommuting centers. Requires that grant funds be used to at least five satellite telecommuting offices for the use of employees of Federal agencies located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan and surrounding areas, subject to specified requirements.
Sets forth provisions regarding: (1) selection preferences; and (2) matching requirements.
