SS United States Preservation Act of 1992 - Declares it to be U.S. policy to provide temporary assistance to efforts by private and governmental entities to convert the SS United States (the vessel) to a maritime museum, requiring all Federal agencies to assist in implementing the policy.
Prohibits the foreign sale or documentation of the vessel. Provides for anchorage and maintenance at Federal expense if there is a substantial likelihood that, during the five years after enactment of this Act, the vessel will be purchased and used as a maritime museum.
