A bill to require the posting on certain aircraft of information relating to the date of manufacture of the aircraft, and for other purposes.
Truth in Aviation Act of 1989 - Directs the Secretary of Transportation to require each commercial air carrier engaged in the transportation of passengers in intrastate, interstate, overseas, or foreign air transportation to display prominently on each aircraft the date of its manufacture and the date it received its most recent inspection by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Specifies a civil penalty the Secretary may impose on violators of this Act.
