A bill to expand the priority and payment rights of consumers in bankruptcy proceedings involving transportation entities.
Consumer Ticket Purchaser Protection Act of 1989 - Amends Federal bankruptcy law to designate as the third ranking priority any unsecured individual claims (up to $900 each) for money paid to a transportation carrier for purchase of travel or transportation for personal or family use where the payment was made before such carrier filed for bankruptcy for transportation to be provided after such filing. Authorizes the bankruptcy court to provide for immediate repayment to such creditor.
