Increases from $500 to $50,000 the claim amount the Attorney General may settle in any one case arising from a claim for personal injury, death, or damage to, or loss of, privately owned property caused by an officer of the Department of Justice who is empowered by law to execute searches, seize evidence, or make arrests for violations of Federal law, acting within the scope of employment. Requires the Attorney General to report annually to the Congress on any such settlements.
