A bill to establish in the Department of the Interior the De Soto Expedition Trail Commission, and for other purposes.
De Soto Expedition Trail Commission Act of 1990 - Establishes in the Department of the Interior the De Soto Expedition Trail Commission to encourage and direct research regarding the De Soto expedition, the native societies it encountered, and the effects of that contact through the States of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
Requires the Commission to report annually to the Secretary and to specified congressional committees on its activities. Terminates it within four years after enactment of this Act.
Permits the Commission to establish technical advisory groups.
Authorizes the Secretary to enter into a cooperative agreement with Florida to provide technical assistance for the preservation and interpretation of the De Soto expedition site in Tallahassee.
Authorizes appropriations.
