A bill to amend title 18 of the United States Code, to increase the term of imprisonment for offenses involving driving while intoxicated when a minor is present in the vehicle.
Drunk Driving Child Protection Act of 1990 - Amends the Assimilative Crimes Statute to require the imposition of a Federal penalty (if not already imposed by a State) of one year imprisonment and a $1,000 fine in addition to any term of imprisonment under State law for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol if a non-driving minor was present in the vehicle at the time of the offense.
Amends the common carrier provisions of the Federal criminal code to increase the penalty for operating a common carrier under the influence of drugs or alcohol if a non-driving minor is present in the vehicle by up to one year's imprisonment and an additional $1,000 fine.
