A bill to establish within the Office of Justice Programs of the Department of Justice an Indian Treaty Law Enforcement Assistance Program.
Indian Treaty Law Enforcement Assistance Act - Establishes within the Office of Justice Programs of the Department of Justice the Indian Law Enforcement Assistance Program.
Directs the Attorney General to reimburse States which have reimbursed local and tribal law enforcement agencies for costs incurred beyond budgeted levels and normal work schedules during operations associated with the tribal exercise of court-determined treaty rights. Limits Federal payments to 90 percent of such costs. Authorizes appropriations.
