A bill to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to protect foreign spouses victimized by physical abuse and extreme mental cruelty.

Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to permit certain battered alien spouses to apply for permanent residence without filing a joint petition (or having a joint interview) with the citizen spouse.

Requires such an alien spouse to demonstrate: (1) that the marriage was entered into in good faith; and (2) evidence of physical abuse or mental cruelty.
