To commend the Government of Taiwan for taking steps to protect certain species of dolphins and to encourage further conservation efforts.

Commends Taiwan for its development of coastal marine mammal protection measures.

Encourages Taiwan to: (1) expedite the cessation of large-scale driftnet fishing and other practices destructive to dolphins; (2) add all coastal cetaceans, including false killer whales, to the list of protected species under the Wildlife Conservation Act of 1989 and rigorously enforce such Act; and (3) continue to work with other countries and conservation organizations to aid in the conservation of all natural resources.
