Prohibits a State which is not a member of an interstate compact for the disposal of low-level radioactive waste from siting a low-level radioactive waste disposal facility within 60 miles of an international border.
Sets forth distance requirements applicable to the siting of radioactive waste disposal facilities near critical habitats of endangered and threatened species, wetlands, and important archaeological sites.
Exempts from the provisions of this Act existing facilities in: Barnwell, South Carolina; Richland, Washington; and Beatty, Nevada.
