To amend chapter 83 of title 5, United States Code, to provide that a reduction in an annuity being made in order to provide survivor benefits for a spouse may be terminated if, due to a terminal illness, the spouse is not likely to survive the annuitant.

Provides that any reduction in an annuity for the purpose of providing a survivor annuity for a current spouse of a retired Federal employee or Member of Congress shall be terminated after approval of a written request for termination because, due to a terminal illness, the spouse is not likely to survive the employee or Member.
