Outlines the Assistant Secretary's functions, including: (1) establishing a coordinated Departmental policy on environment, safety, and health issues; (2) reviewing Departmental procedures regarding such policy issues; (3) acquiring updated information through technical liaison with experts in nuclear facilities safety and health; and (4) reporting to the Congress regarding such coordinated Departmental policy.
