To require automobile rental companies to make full disclosures of charges in advertising and to rental customers, and for other purposes.
Truth in Consumer Auto Rental Act - Requires automobile rental companies to disclose fully in the rental agreement each charge attached to the rental of the automobile and the total charge for the rental and to disclose such total cost prominently in any advertisement.
Prohibits such companies from charging an amount in excess of that stated in the rental agreement or the advertisement.
Sets forth enforcement provisions covering: (1) private civil actions; (2) civil penalties; and (3) injunctive actions by, and investigative and subpoena authority of, the Attorney General.
