IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES March 20, 1989 Mr. LELAND introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary A BILL For the relief of Mohsen Khalifa. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That (a) subject to subsection (b), Mohsen Khalifa-- (1) shall be considered to have satisfied the requirements of section 316 of the Immigration and Nationality Act relating to required periods of residence and physical presence within the United States, and (2) notwithstanding section 310(d) of that Act, may be naturalized if he is otherwise eligible for naturalization under that Act. (b) Subsection (a) shall apply only if the beneficiary files a petition for naturalization within two years after the date of the enactment of this Act.
