To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide for special immigrant status for certain H-1 nonimmigrant nurses and to establish conditions for the admission, during a 5-year period, of nurses as temporary workers.
Immigration Nursing Relief Act of 1989 - Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to: (1) grant special immigrant status to certain alien nurses; and (2) provide for their temporary nonimmigrant admission.
Directs the Secretary of Labor to provide for the appointment of an advisory group to advise the Secretary concerning the impact of this Act on the nursing shortage.
Directs the Secretary to conduct a study and report to the Congress regarding the amendments made by this Act.
