Amends the Department of Defense Authorization Act, 1986 to extend through FY 1997 the date by which the existing stockpile of chemical agents and munitions must be destroyed by the Secretary of Defense. Extends until August 31, 1997, the date by which notice of a deferral of such deadline must be given to the Congress by the Secretary.
Directs the Secretary, no later than March 15, 1989, to transmit to the Congress a revision of the schedule for destruction of such agents and munitions required under such Act.
