A bill to provide for fair and nonpartisan administration of Federal elections.
Fair Elections Act of 1987 - Requires that each registrar, voting judge, member of a board of elections, or other person (other than an elected official) who has direct responsibility for the administration of, or the registration for, a Federal election be selected solely on the basis of merit and without regard to political affiliation. Prohibits such persons from being disqualified from such positions for any reason other than unfitness or inability to perform required functions.
