A bill to amend the Commodity Exchange Act to authorize a joint study of market volatility.

Amends the Commodity Exchange Act to direct the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to study the nature and effects of trading in futures contracts on equity indices, options and options on futures on such indices, and securities, during the period of high volatility beginning the week of October 12, 1987, with particular attention given to October 19, 1987. Lists specific topics to be addressed in the study. Requires that the Commission complete the study and report its findings to the Congress by June 1, 1988.

Authorizes appropriations.
