A bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to provide increased penalties for certain major frauds against the United States.
Major Fraud Act of 1987 - Amends the Federal criminal code to subject anyone who defrauds or attempts to defraud the Government in any procurement of property or services for $1,000,000 or more to a fine of up to twice the amount which is the object of the fraud, seven years' imprisonment, or both.
Sets a seven-year statute of limitations. Provides for payments to individuals (other than Government officers or employees acting in performance of official duties) furnishing information leading to a conviction.
