A bill to establish an Administrator for Consumer Product Safety within the Department of Health and Human Services and to transfer the functions of the Consumer Product Safety Commission to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and for other purposes.
Consumer Product Safety Act Amendments of 1987 - Amends the Consumer Product Safety Act to: (1) abolish the Consumer Product Safety Commission; (2) establish in the Department of Health and Human Services the Office of the Administrator for Consumer Product Safety; and (3) transfer the functions of the Consumer Product Safety Commission to the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Repeals the interim cellulose insulation safety standards.
Authorizes appropriations for FY 1989 through 1991.
