A bill to amend title 5, United States Code, to provide enhanced retirement credit for United States magistrates.
Magistrates' Retirement Parity Act of 1987 - Amends provisions of Federal law relating to civil service retirement to make the retirement of U.S. magistrates comparable to that of bankruptcy judges. Makes magistrates and bankruptcy judges eligible for immediate retirement after becoming age 62 and completing five years of civilian service, or after becoming 60 years of age and completing ten years of service as a bankruptcy judge or magistrate. Provides methods for computing the annuity of U.S. magistrates.
