A bill to amend the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, to encourage mediation and conciliation prior to bringing rights of action under that Act, to permit reasonable attorneys' fees in certain cases in which a final order is entered in favor of the defendant, and for other purposes.
Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Mediation Process Act of 1987 - Amends the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act to require a person to pursue all administrative and mediation or conciliation avenues before bringing an action under such Act. Requires all administrative steps taken to be detailed in a complaint.
Provides attorneys' fees for a defendant where the court determines that a plaintiff's action was unreasonable, abusive of the legal process, or was pursued for the principal purpose of harassment.
