A bill to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to increase the level of benefits payable with respect to the death of public safety officers, and for other purposes.

Amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act to increase from $50,000 to $100,000 the amount of benefits paid to public safety officers (law enforcement officers and fire fighters) who die as a result of an injury sustained in the line of duty.

Removes the requirement that parents be dependents of the deceased in order to receive such benefits.
