Establishes the Commission on Department of Energy Environmental Remediation Activities. Requires the Commission to: (1) compile existing information related to environmental contamination from releases or threatened releases of hazardous substances at Department of Energy (DOE) facilities; and (2) develop recommendations for a national approach to carry out environmental remediation activities at such facilities. Directs the Commission, no later than November 30, 1989, to report such recommendations to the President and the Congress.
Authorizes the Commission to obtain from any U.S. agency any information necessary to carry out this Act. Requires DOE contractors to provide the Commission with timely access to facilities, personnel, and information.
